Is it okay to create generic base controller to get rid of CRUD boilerplate logic?

What is your opinion on this?

My CRUD controllers mostly look the same, there is a lot of boilerplate. What's the best way to handle it, are generic base controllers fine despite the answer on stackoverflow?
