I have created a web app using Visual Studio Code and have it running locally on my Mac using dnx version 1.0.0-rc1-update1 (coreclr). It is now ready to publish.
My ISP (1and1) tells me that they do not support any version of ASP.Net later than 4.5 but suggests that I upload my files and give it a try.
Having never worked with 4.5, I do not know what to make of that suggestion. The file types that my web app contains are .json, .cshtml, .cs and .js.
Is it worth it to upload my files to 1and1 and to run the app there? And if so, how would I need to proceed? In my development environment I need to run "dnu restore" and "dnx web" to launch the app. Are there equivalent steps on the server, and if so can I run them or would that be the ISP's responsibility? Would I need to use Bower?
In the event that I need to shop for a different ISP who can support ASP.NET 5 / ASP.NET Core 1.0 now, do you have any suggestions? I need a host who can offer email accounts as well as hosting the web site.
