Can a beginner start with ASP.NET Core 2?

Hello,

I am a newbie in .NET and today I have come to learn about ASP.NET Core 2.

The thing is that I have problem with all the ASP.NET MVC 5 tutorial, whether is database first or code first etc.

So, can I know if it is advisable for me to start from ASP.NET Core 2 without prior knowledge on all the asp.net  ?
